About the artist

Miranda
Donovan

Miranda Donovan is a British-Dutch artist whose practice explores the sculptural possibilities of painting. Raised between London, Holland and Gozo, she studied History of Art at the University of Bristol, followed by Fine Art in Aix-en-Provence and at the City & Guilds of London Art School, graduating in 2005.

Walls recur throughout her work as surfaces that carry traces of human activity and time. Using building materials alongside paint, she constructs, sands and reworks her images. Her paintings bring opposing forces into proximity, considering the possibility of coexistence and hope.
